EXCELLENT Based on 180 reviews Posted on Justin FlemingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Got to enjoy this experience with my wife, mother, and grandmother. Ivo, the guide, was honestly just awesome. Extremely knowledgeable and kind. Everything from the Caldera to the Hot Springs was fantastic. Looking at some of the pictures ahead of time you might see some mud water, and you might ask yourself what is so interesting about mud water. Well Ivo will tell you and you'll be glad you saw it. Pretty neat tour, don't miss out.Posted on Traivor MorrisonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ivo and team are exceptional hosts in the Azores! We had an incredible day. He picked us up from our cruise ship Celebrity Xcel for a west side tour of the island that included the best hot spots and hidden gems. We’ll definitely book again when we’re back! -Andy + Trai from @twogayexpatsPosted on Sophia SpencerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great tour! Highly recommend! So educational and surprisingly unique! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and experienced, answered all our questions with patience and enthusiasm. We felt safe and in good hands, considering the tour was mostly at night and in the dark. We visited several places, more than we expected so it felt like we got a good bang for our buck. And each place was better and more beautiful that the last! Hard to pick a favorite. I loved the lake views at sunset 🌅 and hot springs ground stoves all over the small park, the hot springs tubs were just stunning and sooo relaxing 😌. We saw some bunnies , got to pet a few kitties 🐱 We stopped by a small island and did few pictures by the ocean 🌊 Then was the delicious traditional hot oven dinner with red wine and green tea 🍵 or coffee ☕️. He was patient once again and waited for us to enjoy the hot springs tubs for over one and a half hours. He also paid for our passes so we don’t have to figure out their website, and trusted us to pay him $17 euros back each. He then took us to the mineral water springs where we tried about 7-8 different waters, even carbonated ones. All delicious btw. And different temperature underground waters were slowly sipping through the ground in different spots. We felt the ground being warm at night, especially on a cool night on May 2nd. That was kinda neat. Same was the steam coming from the ground all around us! Right in a middle of a housing development while people were sleeping!!! It looked like the whole town is about to blow up. But he reassured us that this is normal and locals come here often to cook corn 🌽 on the steam and always decorate the whole steam section for Xmas 🎅 🎄 with countless figurines. And there were so many stories and traditions like these! Fascinating! At the end he gave each of us a baked bean muffin, which we devoured right away. Home made too, which was a nice touch. All around - an amazing tour! Will definitely go back!Posted on Mj BTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an excellent experience with Wildscape Tours. Ein super Erlebnis und eine sehr informative Tour Dank unseres Guides Ivo Soares, es war toll! Gerne wieder!Posted on Harprit SandhuTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ivo was the best tour guide we have come across. Being able to hold a conversation and keeping the information and facts flowing throughout the drive and at the restaurant was great to see. Very rare to have such a great tour guide these days but Ivo goes above and beyond from supplying treats/umbrellas/taking pics. Everything was explained thoroughly. We will definitely be reaching out to Ivo next time we visit the Azores.Posted on Tera NadiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A fantastic day! F.A.Q.
If you don’t find it here, just ask us! We’re glad to help.
The climate at the Azores is classified as an Atlantic Temperate type or sub-tropical in certain locations, defined by its low thermal amplitude (approx. ranges 4ºC – 30ºC [39ºF – 86ºF] throughout the year), high rains, relative humidity in the air and persistent winds.
Between the months of October – April we recommend bringing a layer or two of warmer clothing with waterproof capability.
From May – September we recommend breathable light clothing, the temperatures don’t rise too much in the Azores but our humidity really makes a stand. At night, temperatures can drop greatly depending even during the summer, carry a warm piece of clothing just in case.
A definitely must are comfortable shoes, those high heels will look good on you for the photos but you’ll probably miss some of the fun walking to more off-track places or be more prone to injuries. Uneven terrain is expected throughout our tours.
Light and breathable clothing for summer, waterproof and warmer for winter. For night time a piece of warmer clothing is enough.
We carry umbrellas if needed.
Please bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and flip-flops. Careful treading the rocks, especially the shiny and green ones, those can be quite slippery.
The wildlife around São Miguel is pretty friendly: you won’t find any snakes, venomous spiders, coyotes, foxes, wolfs, bears or any sort of predatory species. Usual the problem is at sea with the medusas or when getting too close to some birds nests.
It can be or not, it all depends on what you’re aiming for. Flexibility is WildScape Azores nickname
